Google Chrome

Finally get my Google Chrome working, because of the Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 (SEP 11) running on my system, i got the "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application." error with google chrome (chrome.exe).

So if you are using SEP 11, then you could try the following steps:
-Back up the registry on an affected system
-Open the registry on the Agent system by entering regedit in Command Prompt
-Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SysPlant
-Open the Start DWORD
-Change the value to 4 to disable the drivers
-Reboot the system to commit the changes

You can refer to this link for detail instruction.

What I like about Google Chrome will be the Chrome create a new process for every new tab, this means, when one of the tab crash, the other are still working!

Everything is working fine like what a browser should do, only one thing seems not working with the Chrome, that's the Parking War apps in Facebook. As for the speed, i feel like there is not much difference with Firefox 3.

BTW, as for now, Google Chrome only available to Windows user, so sorry to Mac & Linux user =)

Review: Dell Vostro 1510

My uncle just bought a Dell Vostro 1510, over the weekend i have the chance to play with it as he asked me to install some common use software into his Vostro.

Spec:
Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.1GHz, 3MB Cache, 800MHz FSB)
3GB DDR2-667 Ram
320GB WD SATA2 HDD
8x Slot load DVD +/- RW
15.4" WXGA Display with Anti-glare
128MB nVidia 8400GS DDR3
Genuine Windows Vista Business

I only had my HTC Touch in my hand throughout the review, so there is only 1 pict taken. Click here for more picture of Vostro 1510.

Overall the spec is almost the same as my Inspiron 1420, the difference are only my Inspiron is running a T8300 processor and smaller 14" Display. So performance wise.

One issue I wanted to bring up in this review will be Dell build quality. The design for the laptop seriously not bad! But the materials that being used is very cheapo, too much plastic, the feel of typing with it is not as good as my Inspiron. Furthermore, the plastic look couldn't attract me to do my work with the laptop.

Another cons about this Vostro will be the Slot load DVD +/- RW, when you insert a disc to the drive, the noise that produced is seriously bloody loud! Even louder than the XPS 1530 drive.

IMHO, if you plan to buy an business laptop, try to consider other brand like Lenovo Thinkpad rather than spending RM 4.2k on this piece of plastic, i know the spec of other brand may not match with Dell but the premium you paid at least you can buy more metal with it!
